Desiree lives near her grown children in a Florida beach town with her handsome beau, and two fluffballs that she claims are a cat and a dog. If you lose track of her, you’ll find her playing with pencils or a piano. She’s a recovering pedantic know-it-all and history buff and a travel addict. Her daughter wants you to know that she cannot do chores without singing.
She writes short stories, flash fiction, vignettes, novellas, and occasionally the collection or novel, in sci-fi, paranormal and mystery genres under her own name and under pen names.
She says; “What I write contains inspiration from real life, a whole lot of made-up stuff, and a little magic, although sometimes the lines blur. I try not to take you to a dark place without showing you how to get out of it. Sometimes it needs to be written more than I need to know why. I try to make sure each work lifts more than it drags.”
Published numerous times in short story anthologies, she’s published on several platforms. Every blue moon, she updates this website with some of her published works. Désirée has been writing short fiction since she was nine, when she she used up all her father’s typewriter ribbons writing a time travel story on an Underwood. At thirteen, the Selectric allowed two entire lines of saved text and was a massive luxury. These days, while she loves the luxury of modern cloud-based writing tools, she misses the ribbons.
